Perfect Bar Makes Moves towards USDA Organic and Non-GMO Project Verified Certifications

Posted by Katie Orphey on

Beginning April 18, 2016, Perfect Bar’s Peanut Butter, Fruit & Nut and Cranberry Crunch flavor recipes will join the Almond Coconut bar with the highly-esteemed USDA Organic seal. To qualify for the USDA Organic label, the entire line of Perfect Bars will be made with organic non-fat milk and organic egg powder, except for the vegan almond coconut bar.

In the midst of this transition, Perfect Bar is also working on obtaining its Non-GMO Project Verified seal. While Perfect Bars have always been made with Non-GMO ingredients, the labeling updates come after all skus underwent a thorough process by The Non-GMO Project: a non-profit organization that independently offers GMO test verification and labeling for Non-GMO products. As the only North American third-party verification for Non-GMO foods, the organization employs a process using traceability, segregation and testing to ensure compliance with their standards.

Beginning in May 2016, Perfect Bar fans will find the new SKU’s of peanut butter and almond butter bars line-priced at $2.99 in more than 5,000 retailers nationwide.

“Our team has always been committed to responsible sourcing practices that help maintain the integrity of Perfect Bar and hold true to what our Dad, Dr. Bud Keith, set out to accomplish with the original recipe,” said Perfect Bar CEO Bill Keith. “In doing so, we’ve taken a holistic approach to organic and Non-GMO stewardship with these newly acquired certifications. We’re proud to showcase this progress in retailers nationwide, giving consumers greater access to convenient and tasty products they can trust.”
